Children are like clay as they take any shape we want to give them, and once the clay hardness, it becomes impossible to shape it up. And this is what happens to children when they grow up. Children are the next generation, what we teach them today, will be reflected on what they become tomorrow.
Once they grow up in an erroneous way, they cannot be changed. Thus it is very important to nurture them the correct way. Proper education is mandatory for the children. The primary schools provide education, but the proper teaching techniques are not used, as most of the teachers don't have training, therefore they don't act friendly with the children and as a result, their innate talents remain hidden.
A teacher must be able to identify the particular talents of the children. But this is not done in the primary schools of Bangladesh as the teachers are not trained and caring enough to identify the children's needs. Unskilled teachers cause the talented children to disregard their talents at an early stage. Schools with more of extra curricular activities should be introduced, where the children can be nurtured in the best way. If this is done, we will be able to build up better people and a better nation.
And this is what Addhayan Shishu Foundation will try to do for the children of our country. Addhayan promises to shape up the children as perfect human beings as emphasis will be given to revitalize the hidden talents. The main activities of this foundation are to promote a reading habit among the children, enhance their ability to debate, improve their writing skills by arranging essay writing competitions and encourage poetry competitions, drama and musical events and other similar activities that provide recreation to the children as well. |
